Greetings MIACADA Members,

It is with great enthusiasm that I write the 2023-2024 President’s Letter. Academic advising is a pillar in the support mechanisms designed to help students succeed from start to completion. It is a rewarding field but is not without its challenges ma king the ability to connect with others who understand the nuances of what we do extremely important. That is why MIACADA has always created exciting opportunities that brings us all together. I look forward to working with the rest of the Board to continue presenting you with new and creative ways to engage and grow as advisors.  

The 2024 MIACADA Annual Conference embodies our continued desire to help us connect with the theme of “Bridging Us Together”. We are excited to announce Northern Michigan University located in Marquette, MI as our conference host site. The location is ideal for building bridges with our Northern advising community during planned conference events. It is also an excellent time to make it a weekend of exploration with family and/or friends after the conference. We will also continue to offer MIACADA meet-ups as they have proven to be a great way to come together both virtually and in-person.   

We are always looking for new ways connect so please feel free to reach out to any of the Board members if you have ideas, questions, or comments. We would love to hear from you! I look forward to seeing you soon and wish you the best this academic year.
